Covered brokers that do not offer MetaTrader

A growing number of major brands run proprietary platforms only — worth knowing before you assume every broker has an MT4 server.

  • XTB xStation 5 only. XTB's own help centre states it does not offer MT4 or MT5 — xStation 5 is the sole platform (verified 25 Aug 2026).

MT4 in 2026: still available, but shrinking

MetaQuotes stopped selling new MT4 licences years ago, and brokers have been retiring it in stages ever since — usually announced only in a help-centre note, which is why undated "best MT4 broker" lists mislead. Every "Yes" in the MT4 column above means the broker offered MT4 to new retail clients when we checked on 25 Aug 2026. If you're reading this much later, treat the date as part of the answer — and if you catch a stale row before we do, tell us.

The platform is not the broker

MT4 and MT5 are made by MetaQuotes and licensed to hundreds of firms — from strictly regulated brokers to offshore white labels and outright clone operations. Appearing in the platform's built-in broker search is not a regulatory signal: the search checks that a server exists, not who runs it or under which licence. Two firms on the same platform can offer completely different protections.

Before funding any MetaTrader account: find the exact legal entity in the account documents (not the brand name on the website), then check that entity on the regulator's official register. Our five-minute licence check walks through it, the clone-firm explainer covers the impersonation risk, and the broker scanner shows what we've already verified for each brand above.

Risk warning. CFDs and leveraged products are complex and high-risk. You can lose more than you deposit. Between 62% and 78% of retail CFD accounts lose money. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
