Bottom line

Moneta Markets has competitive all-in trading costs and solid platform and app quality, but it offers leveraged CFDs, where most retail accounts lose money, and some clients may be onboarded through an offshore entity with weaker protection. Before depositing, verify the exact legal entity, product access and withdrawal terms that apply to you — and it's worth comparing alternatives before you decide.

Worth comparing if
  • you trade forex or CFDs
  • you care about cost transparency
  • you want clearer withdrawal terms
Check alternatives if
  • you want to own spot crypto, not crypto CFDs
  • you're unsure which legal entity would apply to you
  • you're outside its stronger-regulated regions
  • you want non-CFD / direct investing only

Segregated client fundsSegregated fundsClient money held in bank accounts kept separate from the broker's own funds, so it isn't used to run the business and is easier to return if the firm fails. The international risk disclosure says client funds are held in segregated bank accounts unless otherwise agreed in writing. This is the broker's contractual statement, not our verification of its banking arrangements or a compensation guarantee.
Compensation schemeNo statutory compensation scheme has been established for the Saint Lucia account company. Separate group-company permissions and any commercial insurance must not be treated as coverage for this account.
Negative-balance protectionNegative-balance protectionA safeguard that stops your account going below zero, so you can't end up owing the broker more than you deposited. Mandatory for retail clients in some regions. The international agreement describes a conditional reset for negative balances caused by market gaps. Force majeure, abnormal markets, certain charges and agreement breaches are excluded; balances in other accounts can be offset first. This is not an unconditional loss limit or UK/EU regulatory protection.

Moneta Markets uses at least one offshore entity. The licence that protects your money is the one in your client agreement — not necessarily the headline badge. Check which entity onboards you.

FAQ

Moneta Markets — common questions

Quick, research-based answers to what people check before depositing. Informational only — verify directly.

Is Moneta Markets regulated?+

The international agreement names Moneta Markets Ltd in Saint Lucia; company registration does not establish brokerage authorisation. Separate FCA, Seychelles FSA and Mauritius FSC group records were read first-hand, but they do not identify the entity for every applicant. The UK firm's documented customer types are professional and eligible counterparty, not a retail account route. Confirm the company and terms on the application.

Is Moneta Markets a scam, or is it legitimate?+

Is Moneta Markets available in my country?+

Availability — and the legal entity that onboards you — varies by country (Moneta Markets does not accept AS, AU, CA, CU, CY, ES, FR, GB, GU, IR, IT, KP, MP, PR, RO, RU, SG, SO, SD, UA, US, VI). The entity decides your regulator and protection. Use our entity decoder to see which entity may apply to you, and confirm it during signup.

What does it cost to trade with Moneta Markets?+

International Prime ECN: USD3 per standard lot per side (USD6 round turn). The published EUR/USD table shows 0.1-pip minimum and 0.26-pip average ECN spread, without a measurement window. At USD10 per pip, one lot gives an illustrative USD8.60 spread-plus-commission cost before financing, slippage, conversion or payment costs. Other accounts and instruments differ; this is not our execution measurement.

How long do withdrawals take at Moneta Markets?+

Typical withdrawal time is 1–2 business days (processing; broker-stated). Actual speed depends on your payment method, identity verification (KYC) and the entity that holds your account. Regulated brokers usually return funds to your original deposit method first.

What leverage does Moneta Markets offer, and is it risky?+

Maximum leverage is around 1000:1 on the global entity; retail leverage caps depend on the regulator and legal entity that onboards you. Leverage amplifies both gains and losses, and most retail CFD accounts lose money — only trade with money you can afford to lose.

Does a Moneta Markets account mean an FCA-regulated retail account?+

No. The .com international website excludes UK services. The separate UK firm's FCA record lists professional and eligible-counterparty arranging/dealing permissions, and it cannot hold or control client money. Check the actual agreement instead of applying a group licence to every account.

Is the minimum deposit USD50 or USD20,000?+

The international comparator advertises USD50 for Direct STP and Prime ECN. Ultra ECN is a separate reviewed upgrade that requires a maintained balance of USD20,000 or the currency equivalent. Payment methods can have their own limits.

Does a zero-pip spread mean there are no costs?+

No. Prime and Ultra ECN have per-side commissions in addition to the actual spread. Overnight funding, slippage, conversion and payment costs can also apply. The starting spread is not an average execution cost.

Can deposits and withdrawals use cryptocurrency?+

The Help Center describes crypto funding and withdrawals when the method is available in the client portal. Its fee article specifically lists USDT-TRC20. This does not establish that every country, network or crypto trading product is available.
