October 2026 / A frozen research snapshot
Who is behind a broker name?
Our selected directory contains 21 broker brands and 80 legal-entity mappings. 18 brands map to more than one company. The practical question is which company appears on your agreement.
Prepared 2026-10-06. Recorded evidence-check dates run from 2026-06-19 to 2026-10-06. 2 records were re-read on the preparation date; other records retain their earlier dates. This is not a fresh October register check for every row.
A brand name does not identify your account entity
An entity mapping is one company row under a broker brand. The count includes documented non-retail entities and is not a count of companies available to every visitor. More entities do not establish higher or lower quality.

Re-checking a correction keeps its history
The separate evidence log contains 106 licence records across 27 broker labels, including research-only brands. 19 records have a correction history: 13 corrected values were later re-verified, while 6 still await that confirming step. These are corrections to our records, not findings that brokers misled clients.

The entity count, brand by brand
Brand links open the current evidence, which can change after this frozen edition. The downloadable dataset preserves this edition’s exact rows.
Sources, method and reuse
A frozen export of Clarytrade's selected directory and evidence log. Entity mappings are rows per broker, not a deduplicated count of companies or retail onboarding routes. Licence counts include research-only brands. Corrections describe our records, not broker misconduct. A later source read never erases a historical correction. Publication is not a new check of each source; this is not a representative industry sample.
Reproduce the figures from the JSON: sum each directory brand’s entity rows; count licence records by their original status, keeping re-verified corrections separate. The file includes source URLs, check dates and correction notes. It was exported from commit 1c9b2f2bbae9.
September used a different-sized dataset. A difference between edition totals can reflect added coverage or re-checks; it is not an industry-wide change rate.
