Regulation check

Is InstaForex regulated?

Our InstaForex evidence log contains 2 regulatory records, with all 2 findings confirmed against regulator-authored sources (last read 2026-10-24). Records can include historical corrections and limited-scope authorisations; they are not a count of current trading licences. The main international record is BVI FSC; the separate CySEC authorisation shown below belongs to the EU company and does not extend EU terms to the .com referral. BVI FSC lists InstaFinance Ltd as currently regulated for investment activities; its published register entries do not print the broker-disclosed SIBA/L/14/1082 number. CySEC separately confirms Instant Trading EU Ltd, licence 266/15, with instaforex.eu as an approved domain. Neither that EU licence nor a partner registration confirms the entity or country eligibility of the international .com referral.

Verified means we read the stated finding in a regulator-authored source. Where no number is published, only the entity is confirmed. Historical records do not establish current authorisation.

Notes from our checks

  • BVI FSC : Entity-only confirmation: the official BVI FSC register lists InstaFinance Ltd under Currently Regulated Entities for dealing as principal. Separate current entries list dealing as agent, arranging deals and custody. These pages print no licence number; SIBA/L/14/1082 remains broker-disclosed, not number-verified. Current records and the international agreement agree on the name, but a legal rename from Instant Trading Ltd was not independently established. Country-specific retail onboarding is not established by this record.
  • CySEC 266/15: Licence and entity read first-hand in the current CySEC register: licence date 13 January 2015; approved domains instaforex.eu, forexmart.eu and instatradesolution.hu. This is the separate EU company. Its authorisation and country-notification tabs do not establish that the assigned instaforex.com affiliate route uses this entity or carries EU account terms.

Protections

What the licences actually give you

Three protections worth checking by name. Any of them can be missing even when a broker is licensed somewhere.

Compensation schemeNo statutory compensation scheme was established for the international account. The separate EU company's stated ICF membership applies only to eligible clients of that company, not automatically to the instaforex.com referral.
Segregated client fundsSegregated fundsClient money held in bank accounts kept separate from the broker's own funds, so it isn't used to run the business and is easier to return if the firm fails.Ordinary client-money segregation for this international account was not established by the documents reviewed. The separately named Segregated Account service is a special arrangement requiring proof of funds above USD50,000, with a 30% deposit and 70% credit; it is not evidence that all ordinary accounts use segregated client-money arrangements.
Negative-balance protectionNegative-balance protectionA safeguard that stops your account going below zero, so you can't end up owing the broker more than you deposited. Mandatory for retail clients in some regions. An unconditional negative-balance limit was not established for the international account. Clause 3.15.5 permits a negative balance to be restored using funds in another account. Do not substitute the separate EU company's retail terms.

Regulator actions and notices on record

Stated neutrally, each with its official source. We never publish an unsourced regulatory-history claim.

  • 2024-11-11·Securities Commission Malaysia

The official investor-alert update added InstaForex. The current list links instaforex.com and identifies unlicensed securities-dealing activity in Malaysia. This is a local authorisation warning.

    Official source
  • 2023-05-05·Alberta Securities Commission

The regulator's caution states that InstaForex is not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives in Alberta. This notice is jurisdiction-specific.

    Official source
  • 2018-08-02·CySEC

CySEC announced a EUR130,000 administrative fine against the separate Instant Trading EU Ltd company concerning client-interest and appropriateness obligations. The decision records corrective actions presented as mitigating factors. This historical EU-company action is not a current suspension finding or an action against the distinct BVI company.

Verify these licences in five minutes

Never take a licence claim from a broker page, or from us, without reading the register.

  1. 1. Note the exact legal entity and licence number from the table above, or from the client agreement you would sign.
  2. 2.Open the regulator's own register from the links below, never from a link the broker hands you, and search that number.
  3. 3. Match the entity name and number exactly, check the status is active or authorised, and look for a clone-firm warning naming the brand.

InstaForex regulation: common questions

Neither that EU licence nor a partner registration confirms the entity or country eligibility of the international .com referral.

Is InstaForex regulated by the FCA?

No. None of the InstaForex entities in our records holds an FCA authorisation. UK residents should treat any FCA claim for this brand as unverified until they find the exact legal entity on the FCA register themselves.

Is InstaForex regulated by BVI FSC?

Yes. InstaFinance Ltd is listed by the BVI FSC (British Virgin Islands, offshore); no licence number was independently confirmed in this record, so the entity is what we verify. Our check: verified on the register, last read 2026-10-24.

Which InstaForex entity would I be onboarded by?

Our map lists 3 InstaForex legal entities (British Virgin Islands, Cyprus (EU) and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines). A listing does not establish retail account availability: consultation or introduction entities and institutional-only firms are not retail trading-account routes. Which company applies depends on your country and client agreement. Use the entity checker for the likely match, then confirm it before depositing.

Does InstaForex have investor compensation?

No statutory compensation scheme was established for the international account. The separate EU company's stated ICF membership applies only to eligible clients of that company, not automatically to the instaforex.com referral.

Has the FCA published a warning naming InstaForex?

Not in the warnings we hold (FCA clone-firm and unauthorised-firm warnings from mid-2026 onwards, refreshed weekly). Absence is not clearance: search the FCA warning list for the brand and any name a caller gives you.

Has InstaForex been fined or warned by a regulator?

Our log holds 3 sourced regulator notes for InstaForex, the most recent dated 2024-11-11 (Securities Commission Malaysia). Each is listed on this page with a link to the official source.

Risk disclosure: All investments involve a degree of risk of some kind. Trading financial derivative products comes with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should not engage in trading these instruments unless you fully understand the nature of the transactions you are entering into, and the true extent of your exposure. These types of investments may be suitable for some investors, but they are not for everyone.

Risk warning. CFDs and leveraged products are complex and high-risk. In the broker disclosures we track, 65% to 81% of retail investor accounts lose money trading CFDs (figures by entity, read September 2026). Whether losses can exceed your deposit depends on the entity that onboards you: negative-balance protection is mandatory for retail clients under FCA, ESMA and ASIC rules, not at every offshore entity. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
