If you had a Core Spreads account
A rename is not a transfer: the legal entity is the same company with the same company number and the same FCA reference — only the name on it changed. Your counterparty didn't move; your agreement continues with Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd. Verify it yourself in thirty seconds: search FRN 525164 on the FCA register and check the name history on Companies House under number 07073413. That's the difference between a rebrand and the offshore "new name, new company, old money" pattern we documented at WorldCapital1 — here the paper trail is continuous and public.
The Australia question
People searching "core spreads australia" are usually chasing one of two things. The corporate answer: the Australian arm exists and followed the same rename (Finsa Pty Ltd → Trade Nation Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 93 158 065 635, read first-hand on the Australian Business Register). The product answer: spread betting is a UK-and-Ireland product— it was never on offer in Australia, so the spread-betting-first Core Spreads name never fit there; the Australian business is CFD-only under the Trade Nation name. Its AFSL (422661) is stated on the broker's own legal page; we have not yet read it on ASIC's register first-hand — ASIC blocks automated reads — so treat that number as broker-disclosed for now.
The clone warning that confuses review sites
In February 2023 the FCA published a warning about fake operations impersonating Trade Nation— look-alike domains using names like "Tradenationltd" and "Tradesnation". The FCA's own text names Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd (FRN 525164) as the genuine authorised firm being impersonated. Several review aggregators present this as a red flag against the broker itself; read at the source, it's the opposite — and a reminder to type tradenation.com yourself rather than following links. How clones work, and how to spot one: the clone-firm explainer.
The rest of the entity map — stated, not yet verified
Trade Nation's own legal page also lists entities in Portugal (CMVM licence 601), the Bahamas (SCB SIA-F216), the Seychelles (FSA SD150) and South Africa (FSCA 49846). We have not checked those four against their registers yet, so we report them as the broker's own disclosures — the same discipline we apply to every broker in our licence-evidence log. As always, which entity onboards you decides your protections: brand vs legal entity explains why that matters more than the logo.
